School of Life: Undoing the Mundane Routine

As a kid, I refused to wear jeans. From the ages of 9-13, stretchy pants were IT for me. It was a comfort thing, mostly.  I’m ultra sensitive to the touch of scratchy fabric. Still. But,  I also  needed to express my differences. I spent most of my days just on the outskirts of the “in” crowd, and was totally okay with it.  My husband grew up expressing his differences in the ways lots of boys do. I’m not at liberty to spill exactly what that means. But,  somewhere in our charts de destiny — we have been dreamily aligned to raise a “different” child.

But, believe me — we didn’t set out to do anything outside the “norm” when it came to starting our family. We did the doctor appointments, the pampers, the birthing classes. Soon enough, that fizzled though. And, even before my little Dougie’s health began to decline — he was showing us that he was destined for something more.

When it came to schooling, at first we opted to have him evaluated  for special services through the Chicago Public School system. It took them over a year to complete their evaluation, and by the time we had our  first IEP meeting — his label of “severely autistic” was obviously invalid. He was healing through Body Ecology, Raw Foods, and the energy healing and sensory work that we do at home.  Still,  we took the label in hopes of getting him more education.

Dealing with  the red tape, “autism specialists,” and trudging through the snow to get my child to one hour of speech therapy and occupational therapy each week was draining on him.  After one year of speech therapy, he never talked for his teachers. And, just preparing him for the trip was hell on us. He tantrummed and begged not to go.

When I observed Dougie in class, I noticed all of the distractions present in the public school. Bells ringing, intercom going on and off, other teachers walking in, teachers stopping to discipline other kids and more.

We tried private school and absolutely loved their routine and core belief structure. But, then there was the price and the fact that Dougie still wasn’t THRIVING. By this time, we took lots more care to teach him at home.

Teachers were telling me that I should be worried that he wasn’t talking. I thought, “how could he talk when his gut is a mess?” He was healing, and all of the “teachers” and “authority figures” around him were trying to put information into him, and make him do things.

But, Dougie needs to express things, let go of things, be absorbed in positivity, live out loud. Dougie needs to be free. He knew from the start that only I understood that, and I think that’s why he chose me.

I remember being reminded over and over how important it is for children. “especially those on the spectrum” (ugh “the spectrum”… sheesh!) to have a  strict routine. Yeah, I see how that can help settle an overactive mind. We all crave structure for balance. But, that sure doesn’t mean commanding your children to do certain things or be a certain way.

Our Daily Structure is Important to Us

My goal is to get out of Dougie’s way so that he can thrive without having to depend on me forever. I don’t want him fully dependent on a specific routine. Much of my own success comes from being able to handle change. It’s all I know. So, it’s how we roll here.

I know many children whose stories are similar to Dougie’s, and if  one of these children calls you mama or dad — just know that they chose you for a reason. If the homeschool or unschool bus is honking its horn at you — you can jump on.  Remember, I was told to worry because it’s well known that our  kids crave even more structure than the “norm.” Worrying has never done me any good. Ever.

The Routine of No Routine

Unschooling is reteaching my family how to live and be  with each other in deeper love and more productive ways. We feel we lost a lot of time worrying and working hard to do what was normal for our child. Here’s a glimpse into our day. maybe it will help you to:

  • Make and eat breakfast together (Dougie helps cut veggies, scramble eggs, pour smoothies, push blender buttons and choose what he wants. He also helps clean up).
  • Get dressed and spend some outdoor time at beach or park. We often bring toys or books and “work” outside.
  • Go to the store or market (Dougie fills his own cart, asks for what he wants and orders at the juice bar or deli. He also pays the cashier and talks to the workers at our local store. We often eat lunch outside.
  • Come home, light cleaning all together and play time for Dougie (he plays puppet show, Toy Story toys, paints, this is his alone time).
  • Nap time
  • More outdoor time, outside class like yoga or music, park or playdate.
  • Reading, art, music, math through games, puppet show or whatever we feel like — so long as it’s fun and creative.

We sign Dougie up for a few low-key activities where he can get time away and explore. He loves his yoga class. We also try to help him forge relationships with other children. He has his favorite friends and loves to play with his cousins.

We take trips all over the city, show Dougie how to use the bus and read the signs, allow him to experience the different cultures we have here, and visit beautiful places. We walk, we climb, we never stop enjoying.

Dougie is kindergarten age, and has learned all of this kindergarten lessons through play and fun. What a life!

Raw Cream of Mushroom Soup (with hidden ferments)

Cream of Mushroom Soup

We eat raw, living foods whenever we can. But using raw food for autism recovery means paying extra special care to the digestibility of the food and the sugar content.

I’ve worked with hundreds of children on the autism spectrum, and ALL of them have had gut imbalances including candida (yeast), food intolerance, allergies, and  nutrient deficiencies. So, we’ve got some pretty delicate systems here. Finding a balance of green, raw, fermented and blended (easily absorbable) food is a must. We also keep as close to the  Body Ecology principles of food combining (fruit is eaten alone, on an empty stomach,  and proteins are not combined with carbs) and  80/20 (keeping our meals 80% vegetable and 20% protein or carb) as possible. This ensures that we can get the most nutrient bang per bite.

This recipe is blended and contains live beneficial bacteria that can help you digest it.  It also contains some nuts — which do cause reactions for some people.  I wouldn’t call this one of my healing recipes but, it’s a darn delish way to enjoy raw food.

Raw Cream of Mushroom Soup (with hidden ferments)

Ingredients:

1 lb of mushrooms (shitake and maitake are delish and healing)

½ cup olive oil

1 tsp sea salt

pinches of black pepper, oregano, thyme, sage, pinch nutmeg and any other herbs you may like

3 cups  homemade Brazil nut milk (recipe below)

½ cup pine nut cheese

Process:

Marinate 1 lb of mushrooms (I  get a bag from farmers mkt.. any kind you like will do) with ½ cup olive oil, 1 tsp sea salt, black pepper, oregano, thyme, sage, pinch nutmeg and any other herbs you may like for about an hour. Then, blend the entire mixture with 3 cups  homemade Brazil nut milk and ½ cup pine nut cheese. You can warm this on the stove top or blend in vitamix until warm. We like to have this with peas. Then again, we simply love peas.

Tiny Kick in the Pants:

Add some ume boshi plum vinegar to the end result before you eat.

I like Brazil nut milk with this recipe. You can make it by soaking 3 cups of Brazil nuts in enough water to cover them for about a day. Then, rinse the nuts and add to your blender with 6 cups of water. Blend for about 30 seconds and  strain the pulp through a nut milk bag (or strainer). The liquid is “nut milk,” and the pulp can be used in muffins, crackers and raw breads.

Fermented Quinoa Milk

The Incas knew about this magical grain…. have you tried it yet?

If you haven’t already added quinoa to your diet, you probably should. This grain-like gluten-free seed is so versatile and absolutely delish.

I used it to make my vegan guacamole burgers last week, I use it in salads, wraps and even make milk out of it.

You can make quinoa milk much like you make rice milk or almond milk and  add  it to smoothies, soups or chocolate — YUM!  Of course, I like to take it one step farther.

I’ve been known to ferment just about anything I get my hands on, and why not? Fermented foods are the most powerful of all super foods because they are predigested.

When you ferment quinoa milk you add living bacteria and enzymes to it. These bacteria live in your digestive system and create your immunity.

Make your own fermented quinoa milk

Equiptment

  1. High speed blender
  2. 2 quart sized sterile glass jars with lids
  3. nut milk bag or strainer

Ingredients

2 cups raw quinoa ( I buy mine in bulk)

1 quart pure water

pinch sea salt

1/4 cup coconut kefir, home-made kefir or strong probiotic powder.

Optional

vanilla, stevia or agave, mesquite, maca

Process

  1. Soak your quinoa overnight in quart-sized  glass container with a pinch of sea salt ( in fridge or on the counter)
  2. Rinse quinoa and add to blender with 1 quart pure water
  3. Blend for 30 seconds
  4. Drain quinoa pulp by using a nut-milk bag (found at natural grocers) or a strainer
  5. Pour the liquid into a sterile glass jar
  6. add 1/4 cup kefir or tbsp probiotic powder and seal jar
  7. Make sure jar is sealed and clean
  8. Set out to ferment at 70-80 degrees for 18-24 hours
  9. Drink as is or add sweetener and flavors listed above

This is so much healthier than the store-bought pasteurized probiotic drinks, because it doesn’t contain added sugars, colors or preservatives. It’s raw, its delicious and I hope you love it.

Steps I took to undo my son’s autism

I promised more info and here it is my loves.  This piece is about 2 years old …  We’ve had more progress and made some more changes that I will continue to share. My book goes into greater detail, but I really thought that these steps would be of great value to you. Enjoy!

It is important to note that I studied my son’s deficiencies, intolerances and symptoms both by researching and by paying very close attention to his body. All of our treatments for the first 2.5 years have been either coming from whole food or herbal sources or through energy healing done at home by me. We have never hired a professional for these services (in the first 2.5 years). In the case of mineral deficiencies I have always (because of cost) made my own supplements by simply using foods and fermenting them… or buying whole food high quality supplements. I have listed helpful supplements at the end of this.

The first 9 months: In this time Dougie went from very sick (ear infection, pneumonia, sore throat, cough, and diarrhea) to very healthy. He gained back eye contact, focus and began identifying objects and people by name. This is also the time when we recognized his ability to retain information in memory. He began repeating everything he heard and even reciting it months later. He was still having major tantrums quite often, but was decreasing stimming (hand flapping, toe walking, staring into space, licking everything, brushing his face against the floor, spinning wheels, spinning himself etc, spreading feces all over himself and the walls.. these were not totally gone but were slowly drifting).

1.       Began with 1 tablespoon young coconut kefir and slowly increased to 1 cup per day within a week

2.       Made him lots of soups and blended foods that were easy to digest

3.       Got him to eat cultured veggies by dipping blue corn chips into them or using stevia to sweeten them

4.       Added digestive enzymes (Enzymedica Brand before meals)

5.       Began following strict Body Ecology after 1.5 months of transition (this meant no fruit at all, no acidic veggies or mushrooms etc )

6.       Made cultured foods about 40-60% of his diet (dips, juices, veggies, kefir etc)

7.       Added in another probiotic (fivelac): saw more improvement in focus

8.       Added cod liver oil: saw more improvement in focus

9.       Added vitamin C

10.   Added spirulina (saw amazing results… it was like his brain really kicked in and he began learning new things each day).

Month 10: Gone Raw: We were not progressing fast enough. I was feeling that Dougie was still sluggish and sad a lot of the time. He barely had any speech except repeating and labeling. So, we decided to go more raw…. My new motto became… Green it, Blend it, Ferment it

1.       Began Donna Gates’ antiviral protocol which included no fats, no grains, no fruit at all for 10 days

2.       Added enemas, castor oil packs, Epsom salt baths and skin brushing to our routine. : Dougie released lots of toxins through enema and began talking so much more after each enema… sometimes this speech miracle would only last a short while (10 minutes)

3.       Increased morning green drink to 1 quart and added more greens to it (Vitamineral green etc)

4.       Implemented energy healing (massage, reflexology, eft, reiki – saw amazing results like better sleep, happiness, calmness, less stimming, and again more speech. No colds, infections at all. He was also becoming interested in other people… but not yet really wanting to socialize

5.       Added liver support (milk thistle, artichoke etc)

6.       Cultured beet juice for liver cleansing and  he released lots of toxins (parasites)

7.       Added peter Gillian’s Natural Calm cal/mag supplement

The next year: Here we went almost 100% raw and vegan – no animal products at all. We used highly absorbable super foods and supplements. I began making elixirs of herbs and roots, fermenting more foods, and creating a rotated food schedule that allowed him more than what Body Ecology offered. On such a high probiotic-rich raw diet his body could now handle sweet fruits on occasion, beans, potatoes… we still had (have) an issue with protein digestion. He flourished here and began telling us what he wanted; taking interest in playing with other kids, spoke clearer every day, cognitive speech was really improving. He was very healed by end of year 2

1.       Began each day with 1 quart green smoothie

2.       Consumed 1 qt of yck per day

3.       Baby spa ( skin brush, Epsom salt bath, castor oil pack and enema, then EFT before bed on the infrared mat.. with classical music) amazing results

4.       Lots more time in nature (camping, hiking swimming) resulted in him being much more grounded… tantrums were finally dissipating

5.       Mini juice feast… we began juicing (in rotation with smoothies)

6.       Added hemp, chia, bee pollen , blue green algae, Vitamineral green and earth,

7.       Began tummy massages to help stimulate digestion of protein

8.       Added peaceful planet  supreme meal protein powder

9.       Created sensory learning at home… home school with other children and alone (helped very much socially and with him being grounded in himself

Beyond year 2: We continued on a high raw probiotic diet but I stopped worrying about diet…it was no longer my main focus.  I studied reiki, shamanism, energy healing and began very intricate meditation on my own which helped bring us even further out of the darkness of autism. The movement and spiritual practices have helped him use his body in a more coordinated way. Combining this with sensory learning and practical chores like doing dishes and cooking food have helped him become a lot more balanced all over. – even in his thinking and expression). This is where I have realized that energy healing is a HUGE key to recovery. He has only been sick for 5 days in the past 2 and half years and we treat it all naturally. His autism truly unravels each day

1.       Continued on diet  with baby spa treatments ( he continues to improve each day)

2.       Implemented structured yoga/exercise routine

3.       Grounding exercises ( Gabriel Roth’s 5 rhythms, chakra balancing etc)

4.       Exercises to jog brain development (criss -crossing legs, skipping,  dancing)

5.       Added e3 Live “Brain On” and saw amazing results

6.       Added in marine phytoplankton and he literally lost a tic that he had

What’s Next: Now, his gut is healed to a point where we can really focus on his brain. We continue our diet but are much more flexible in what he can eat. He has had spouted wheat and raw dairy with no bad reaction. He has had sugar with no bad reaction. During winter months he eats more cooked food and has had egg and salmon as needed.  Our energy healing practice increases daily.  He now knows how to wash dishes, put on his own clothes, and turn on lights in bathroom – problem solving skills increase.

Here is a list of new supplements we will add for brain swelling, and cognitive development as well as immune support:

1.       Zango brand mangosteen juice ( fermented)

2.       Acai and goji juice fermented and fermented treats with these

3.       Multivitamin (looking for highest quality)

4.       Fish oil ( looking for highest quality)

5.       Vitamin D

6.       Selenium

7.       VSL 3 probiotic

8.       Body Ecology brand ocean plant extract

Finally, an autism post

My time away from posting here has been spent working closely with families to restore and improve their health. It’s been a blast and is teaching me so much about life.

As children get well, and families experience the ups and downs of healing –I gain perspective on what autism really means. A few years back, I wrote “Autism Undone” to help explain to my mom  and family what was going on in my son’s life and body. Since then, I get daily emails about how that little article has helped so many of you. I am stoked that it has. But I have so much more to share.

Autism has deep spiritual and energetic connections that I only touched on in this article. I have so much to share about how we are healing and how we are embracing the gifts of autism. When I said that children with autism have the key to saving the world, I didn’t even know how deeply correct I was.

So, as you may have guessed, I am writing a book and it will be done soon. But, because I want you to benefit more from the gifts that I  have been given, I will be posting helpful snippets of the book here on this blog.

My book will cover the spiritual, emotional, energetic and physical connections to the causes of autism as I see it from experiences with my son and my clients, as well as information that has been granted to me through research and (nothing less than) divine intervention. I also will reveal our exact diets and recipes (as it may help you), and everything else we did to get where we are.

You know.. I don’t much like labels. That’s why I wanted to undo and bring out the truth of the diverse meanings behind the autism label. My book also covers how my family, thanks to my husband, has detached form the label.

It’s gonna be  a rockin book and a rockin’ year. Stay tuned for tons more helpful blogs while you wait.

Happy New Year!

If any of you are interested in kick-starting your family’s healing I’m offering 1 hr consults that include a personal written follow-up and a huge intro pack that teaches Body Ecology, Raw Foods, Intuitive Eating, Recipes, Sensory Exercises, Colon Therapy, Seasonal Eating and so much more. email me @ gina@blissedlife.com for more info

Fermented Foods for Gut Healing: Coconut Kefir and Cultured Beets — Recipes I talked about on the Raw Mom Summit

beetsMore times than not my counter top’s full of sizzling mason jars spreading their sour stink throughout our poorly ventilated apartment. My hubby and I used to argue about “the way I eat” and how it would drive him bonkers. But he’s settled down ever since I started sneaking spoonfuls of it into his shakes.
We ferment all kinds of veggies and drinks in our home and we do it for the sake of gut healing. See, gut problems lead to indigestion and malnutrition — undigested foods turn into toxins, and organs malfunction and allow other toxins to grow and thrive. With my son, the label makers liked to call this autism. Autism usually comes with horrific gut issues. And, I learned, that by repairing the gut we allow for the whole body to heal.

We began our recovery with fermented young coconut water (coconut kefir). I am blessed to have found this. Because it was coconut kefir and coconut kefir alone that helped clear the terrain for deeper healing. Kefir brought back eye contact where there was none. Kefir helped him focus. Kefir changed the bacterial make up in his gut, and he began craving greener foods. Soon, he loved all of his green veggies. And, we all know that green is good! Green heals!
Once I had the kefir in my own system as well – I could see the light at the end of the autism tunnel and it was bright!

Soon, my motto for health through food became Green it, Blend it, Ferment it. I use Body Ecology controlled culture starters to ferment, and I highly recommend this if you or your children have severe digestive problems.  You can ferment wildly like so many of our raw friends do. But, BED’s starters are very hearty and have been specifically formulated with bacterial strains to conquer candida, create vitamins, and assimilate nutrients from food and more.
When you ferment food you save the body time digesting. You make the nutrients more readily absorbable. You promote detox. The body begins to heal because it’s finally receiving the proper nutrition from every bite. So, even if your child lacks HCL (hydrocholoric acid) in the stomach and  has a hard time digesting everything he eats – fermented foods take hold and share their love inside his body. That’s why it’s such a necessary step when trying to undo the autism mess.  I advise my clients to begin with a tablespoon of coconut kefir each morning as a first step in the recovery journey. They can usually work their way up to a quart of the amazing drink within time.

Here’s my method of kefir making:

You’ll need:
1 box (9) young coconuts (which can be purchased most inexpensively at your local Asian market)

1 pack Kefir Starter

I glass pitcher

3-4 sterile quart sized mason jars

  1. Begin with room temp (75 degrees or warmer) coconuts and starter pack
  2. Open 3 coconuts (I just poke hole right below the tip with a screwdriver), and pour into glass pitcher. Make sure that the water is clear and not pink or brown.
  3. Pour that liquid into one jar.
  4. Add the kefir starter.
  5. Lightly stir
  6. Close the jar and let it sit out for 24-36 hrs.
  7. Then, split that batch into 2 jars.
  8. Add fresh coconut water from 3 more coconuts.
  9. Close jars and let sit for another 24 hrs.
  10. Repeat until you have used all of your coconuts.
  11. Refrigerate.

When the coconut water ferments it becomes a bit cloudy, bubby and tastes a little like champagne, you may sense that it smells like bread or beer and that’s fine. Don’t toss it if it doesn’t smell like roses. Sometimes the jars talk, sizzle, make  funky sounds and even vibrate and move on your counter top. Seriously! So, if there’s tons of action coming from a jar, I’d watch out. Tops do pop off. Handle this with komucha care. Every batch won’t ferment at the same pace.  Too much bubbling could mean it’s done fermenting and you can take a drink. Each jar of kefir can ferment about seven more jars. So you will want to leave about a ¼ cup of this magic juice in each jar to start the next batch.
No need to go too fast when embarking on your fermentation journey. There’s plenty of time to experience the magic. Check out the recipe in this issue of Health in High Heels! Just promise me you’ll go slowly with the kiddos. This stuff is very detoxing and chances are that they’ll be releasing a lot. The detox will be amazing if you support it with colon therapy, skin brushing, spa baths, energetic and emotional reinforcement as well as good old fashioned sleep.
Reactions to probiotic foods like kefir are really as varied as our kid’s symptoms. Some kids get hyper for a while others disconnect. It’s generally a sign that the body is pushing out the old. The body really wants to heal.  If you sense that embracing fermented foods as part of your autism healing plan is something you need to do for your child, then please don’t hesitate to contact me for help and support along the way. We can make healing easy if we do it together.

PS. The coconut meat can also be fermented with about a tablespoon of Kefir. This takes about 12 hours. You can do it overnight and wake up to a yummy raw yogurt in the morning!

Enjoy!

“Hey Liver Toxins — Beet It” Fermented Beet Salad

(Originally published on Health in High Heels)

Ingredients:
5 lbs red beets, shredded in food processor
Tons of dill
Juice of 4-5 lemons
2 cloves garlic
Caraway seeds to taste
About ¼ cup raw apple cider vinegar
Few cabbage leaves
Pure water
1 green apple
Few stalks of celery
1 culture starter from Body Ecology

Equipment:
Tiny glass
Humongous mixing bowl
Sterile quart-sized mason jars

Process:

  1. Empty room temp starter culture into 4 oz warmish water and set aside
  2. Shred your beets and add to mixing bowl
  3. Finely chop half of your dill and add that to mixing bowl
  4. Blend 1 green apple, about 4 cups water, handful of beets, celery, garlic and lemon juice and the remainder of dill in Vitamix or really good blender.
  5. Add water/culture starter mix to your blender.
  6. Pour liquid mixture over beets and mix well.
  7. Stuff your outrageously clean mason jars with these cultured vegetables leaving about 1.5 inches at top.
  8. Roll up some cabbage leaves and place atop each jar before sealing…. This helps prevent explosion.
  9. Seal tightly and run under hot water and wipe clean.
  10. I always do a blessing or intention on my veggies…. you can do this now if you choose.
  11. Ferment for 5-10 days at room temp.

The longer you ferment… the more sour they become.

Enjoy!

This is a very cleansing food, so begin trying them in small amounts. You can use this mix as a dip for blue corn chips, raw chips, a topping for any salad or wrap, mixed with a nut or seed cheese for extra zing. Or you can even sprout some quinoa and/ or sesame seeds, blend them together and make dehydrated crackers with it. Very yummy, still raw — and possibly easier to get the kids to love.

Listen Now: Autism Undone Webinar

I’m so happy to share this part of our journey with you. I hope it inspires you. This was recorded in July 2009. Let me know if you have any questions

Our children are wonderful beings of light that often come to bring us to a deeper understanding of our own life’s purpose. We always want the best for them. Vaccines Cause Micro Vascular Strokes: More info I Shared on the Raw Mom Summit

I’m constantly asked my opinion on the connection between vaccines and autism. And, while I have a strong opinion, it’s extremely important to me that you keep yourself informed on the facts. I have provided links to very helpful information. Please take the time to click.

Here are the Facts of Our autism Life

  • My son was born with several complications but developed normally for 12 months
  • He spoke, identified things and walked at 9 months (small words like “yellow” and “mommy”)
  • My son was vaccinated 24 times by the age of 2.
  • He got sick immediately after his last set of vaccines
  • He had never previously needed prescription medicine
  • I did not allow him to receive the MMR
  • My son was diagnosed with autism without having ever received the vaccines most commonly blamed for autism.
  • My son’s toxicity screening shows levels of metals, pollutants and chemicals that are also located in vaccines.
  • These toxins are also in water, air, food, home environment etc.
  • The detoxification of these pollutants through diet and sensory/energy healing has taken away the illness and side effects of what is called autism.
  • We never had money for much testing so I had to rely on my own study and intuition
  • We could tell by process of elimination and experimentation that my son was sensitive to many foods and was not absorbing his nutrition.
  • We suspected an overload of toxicity including, candida, parasites and the toxins which did show up on his screening.
  • We treated for Candida, parasites, metals and pollutants through diet and found that he is now better absorbing his nutrition and really beginning to soar developmentally

Here are some of the FACTS that helped me along my journey

  • Live viruses found in tissue of children with autism: This reports  three cases, but I have contact with people who have developed measles while detoxing.  This means that the virus was in them and could not come out. Once they release the virus, they are one step closer to health. Donna Gates, of Body Ecology has a belief that viral infections are also an underlying problem (another toxin in the overload) of autism. Her Diet, the Body Ecology diet has a specific step to address this viral infection.

If the immune system is down it can let it other pollutants and parasites that would otherwise be pushed out through natural means. These parasites grow, feed off of our food and harbor disease.

Here’s some additional vaccine safety info that I hope will help you

I am not in the business of blaming any one person, doctor, vaccine, parasite or poison for my son’s illness. And, while I have decided not to vaccinate any more I will also say that recovery and complete wellness are about much more than simply not vaccinating. I am also of the opinion that vaccines cause harm to everyone, even if they don’t result in a diagnosis of autism.  Check out the CDC’s website for yourself. We are experiencing disgusting rates of allergies, asthma, food sensitivities, digestive issues and auto immune issues, obesity. All of these illnesses can be traced back to toxicity. And, to me vaccines are just another form of toxicity. For some, they are too much to handle and unfortunately, many of us find out after the fact. You have choices.

Perhaps vaccines actually do stop the spread of contagious diseases. The doctors and scientists whom I have spoken with truly do not know the answer to that. But The CDC will say that vaccines do work to do what they were meant to do, and that they are not related to autism.

So, what it comes down to is that it’s up to us to decide what’s best for us. It’s not enough to simply take away poison. We must feed our bodies pure health through food, thoughts, emotions, energy and exercise in order to thrive.

I feel the need to express that if you are a parent of a child with a” disability”  illness or autism I am on your side and I respect your journey, your outlook, your decisions and your rights to those decisions. If I can help you bring your child to better health I am here for you, even if we see things a bit differently. This is a reflection of my life, experience and study. I am open to any information that will bring health and happiness to my family.

Love and Light,

Gina

The Magic of Bio Algae Concentrates for autism Recovery video 2

We’ve had quite an amazing summer full of healing, learning and love! We’ve been on the move and are in transition from Chicago to L.A. so please forgive the late update on Dougie’s experience with Bioage algae supplements.

He has been using them now for just over 2 months and we continue to see improvements. BUT, I must warn that he went through some detox and we did have to tweak the dosage in order for us to feel comfortable with the supplement.

If you are considering using this for yourselves or your children I think it’s a fabulous idea. You can email Dr. Roland Thomas at Roland@Bioage.com for information on the proper dosage and blend for you.

Here is a breakdown of what we have seen. The good, the bad and the honest!

The Doctor’s suggested dosage based on email correspondence of Dougie’s condition:

Three capsules of F2 and three capsules of F3 alternated throughout the day and combined with lots of healthy water.

As I have stated before, these micro algae concentrates are hailed to be the perfect food, offering the body the ability to HEAL. So, unlike other supplements that are intended to “fix something” it gets absorbed and helps create vitamins in the gut as well as absorb nutrition from other foods. They are designed to fix the source of the problem.

Doctor Thomas also suggested that we try Bio Age without any other supplements. I wasn’t so sure about that. But, our supplements are all whole-food based, like hemp, chia, mineral powders, milk thistle etc. I assumed I would need to cut down on them, but didn’t want to take them all away.

It turned out that after 2 pills in one day Dougie was so wiped out that he took a five hour nap. This continued for a week and we were only able to get 2 pills (1 of each) into him. There just wasn’t enough time for more.

After 2 weeks on the supplement I was able to get all 6 pills into his system but couldn’t find much more time for other supps.  He remained on a very healthy diet (mostly raw vegan and Body Ecology).

We noticed improvements in fine motor skills right away. He began cutting with scissors and using a pen. He was also talking more (which is usual for him. His speech improves EVERY day).

We only had Dougie on the 6 pill suggested regime for three days when he really started to seem very unsettled. Even with his improved speech and fine motor skills, he began stuttering a lot of his speech and he began crying so much more. He spent lots of time crying and even began hitting himself on the head, throwing himself to the ground and sometimes tripping and falling.  Some of his injury was out of unsteadiness and some was out of frustration. So he was falling both accidentally and intentinally.

I couldn’t help but feel that his body was releasing toxins of some sort.

I wrote Dr. Thomas about my concerns and this is what he said:

IT IS A PROCESS…  THE REGULATING HYPOTHALAMUS-AXIS IS ENGAGED AND THE CHRONIC PATTERNS ARE BEING ADDRESS OVER TIME…  IN TIME EVEN THE HYPOTHALAMUS GETS BETTER ALONG WITH THE GLANDS, THE ORGANS AND ALL THEIR INDIVIDUAL METABOLIC FUNCTION….  BUT NEVER FORGET THAT IT IS A WHOLE SYSTEM WORKING IN HARMONY…

I now feel that this is a great supplement. But, since we are on such great diet, it may be a bit too much for him to handle so much of it. His body is working hard to heal each day.

Dougie now takes 1-2 of each pill (F2 and F3) every day. His body cannot handle much more. He is healing wonderfully. The Bioage makes him quite tired and he is taking great naps. He wakes up refreshed and calm. He used to often wake up crying and unsettled.

Check out this video to see some of our earlier triumphs.  Much more has happened and I will share soooooooooooooooooooooon!
