Some of my friends are dubbing last weekend’s trade show the Unnatural Products Expo, and I tell you – the very fact that jelly beans and peppermint candy were being given away makes me kind of agree with them. Plus, no one was recycling. My friend Jen Khatchatrian would’ve had a heart attack. What’s up with the Anaheim Convention Center.. or how about the vendors…. ?
Nevertheless, the Dougs and I tasted our samples and saved our containers until we found the ONLY recycling bin around. The O.N.E. Coconut Water folks brought their own recycling container. Bless them.
So, What did I find Delicious or Desirable?
Teeccino: Have you tasted this yet? This is an alkaline herbal (tea-like) beverage that tastes like coffee. For a treat it totally rocks and would be an excellent coffee replacement.
What’s in it?
Well, the hazelnut variety contains carob, barley, chicory, dates, almonds, natural hazelnut flavor and figs.
So you’ve got some minerals, fiber, natural sugar and GLUTEN.
I had some thinking it was gluten free. I honestly did not notice a bad reaction. Gluten normally gives me instant achy joints and head pain.
Real Coffee, on the other hand, makes me very sick to my stomach — and this did not. Coffee steals your minerals and leaves your blood acidic.
Remember that life’s all about balance. If you get coffee cravings you will definitely want to check this out as a healthier alternative.
Tanamera: Post Partum Care Herbals and Wellness
Toward the end of the show I met Valerie Lynn McDonough who shared some very valuable info for all American Women.
Post partum depression affects 1 in 8 of us and 80% of American women experience poor health and “the blues” after we give birth. Tanamera wellness combines Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda, and ancient Malaysian cultural practices.
In Malaysia, only 4% of women experience postnatal problems.
Tanamera offers an entire natural self-loving post partum plan. This includes, herbs, teas, oils and even a special apron used to help posture and tighten skin.
They are not on the market yet… but keep an eye out.
And, if you are pregnant or have recently given birth, you may want to check out Malaysian postnatal care.
Other Good News about the Convention
We are seeing more treats sweetened with whole fruits, stevia and birch xylitol. This is good news for the diabetic and all of us who need to cut down on sugar. Still, when you consume white powdered stevia, do understand that it has been processed.
Many of these products, while “natural” are not really the healthiest. Consider them treats.
